Gardens by the Bay is a landmark of Singapore. The Supertree Grove and the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest conservatories showcase tropical plant diversity and modern horticultural technology.

History

Gardens by the Bay opened in 2012 as a Singaporean urban greening project costing more than SGD 1 billion, built on reclaimed land at Marina Bay. Designed by the British landscape architects Grant Associates, its flagship Flower Dome and Cloud Forest use distinctive column-free grid glass domes. Eighteen Supertrees between 25 and 50 metres tall incorporate solar collection and rainwater systems, making the park a flagship of sustainable urban design. The nightly Garden Rhapsody light show has become a signature of Singapore's night skyline.
