HikingAdventureNature
A 96-kilometre trek across the Owen Stanley Range, climbing from coastal rainforest to cloud-wrapped ridges.
Overview
Running about 96 kilometres from Owers' Corner to Kokoda, the track takes eight to twelve days on foot. It crosses lowland rainforest, streams and steep ridges, peaking near 2,190 metres with repeated climbs. Villages along the way offer a window into Koiari life, and remnants of the Second World War Pacific campaign survive along the route.
